Eligibility

The applicants must be aged between 3 and 25 (according to 15th December, 2024).

Scoring Standards

Candidates will be judged on rhythm, musicality, feeling, stage presence, presentation, and appeal. Adjudicator has the right and full discretion on all artistic matters.

Application Guidelines

  • Each candidate can simultaneously enroll Solo and Scholarship Open Group , but each can only submit one entry in any one class by choosing one repertoire. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to disqualify any candidate who fails to comply with the above requirements, and the application fee will not be refunded.
  • Application is not complete until the application fee has been received.
  • Entries that are incomplete, without specified repertoire, with inaccurate information, and/ or without payment of entry fee will not be processed.  The Organizer will not send individual reminder or notice for incomplete entries.
  • Please fill in the application form carefully, HK$ 50 is charged for each change to any information in your submitted application (Including requests to change submitted repertoire).
  • All entry fees are non-refundable or transferable, regardless of not being able to attend the scheduled events.

Cheque should be made payable to【Star Kids Art Development Centre Limited】 with the name of candidate, competition, group and the contact number on the back and mail it together with the application form to:

Application Deadline

  • BY 2nd December 2024
  • The competition details will be announced on our web site 5 days before the contest day, candidates should be responsible to check it online. There will be NO notice given ahead of the competition. Refund and rescheduling are not allowed for late candidates and absentee.
  • Application form received after the deadline will not be accepted, unless an extra fee of HK$50 is received. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse to accept the late registration.

 

Prize

  • Score sheets will be given to all participants at the end of the competition.
  • Grade Solo :

The First-, Second-, Third-prize or The Outstanding Performance Award winners will be awarded with trophies and certificates in each group.

“The Outstanding Performance Award” winner must score 80 marks or above and completed in a group of more than 10 candidates.

(If there are less than 5 people in one group or less than 5 groups in one category, the prizes will be decided according to the candidates’ score).

Scholarship Open Group :

The First-prize winners will be awarded with trophies and certificates and scholarship HK$800 in each group.

The Second-prize winners will be awarded with trophies and certificates and scholarship HK$600 in each group.

The Third-prize winners will be awarded with trophies and certificates and scholarship HK$400 in each group.

The Outstanding Performance Award will be awarded with trophies and certificates and scholarship HK$200 in each group.

“The Outstanding Performance Award” winner must score 80 marks or above and completed in a group of more than 10 candidates.

(If there are less than 5 people in one category will be cancelled).

  • Award for Excellence Guidance School will be presented to school with the highest aggregate scores and the most winners.
  • Award for Active Participant (School) will be presented to school with the most participants.
  • Award for Excellence Guidance Tutor will be presented to teacher with the highest aggregate scores and the most winners.
  • Award for Active Participant (Tutor) will be presented to teacher with the most participants.
  • Adjudicators have the rights of deciding not to give any prize or to eliminate the prizes of the group if the skills demonstrated by the participants have not reached the winning standard.
  • The Organizing Committee and adjudicators have the authority to make changes on the prize and grouping arrangement in accordance to the competitors’ standard and number of participants in each particular group without prior notice.
  • Other participants are recognized based on their final scores:

“Certificate of Merit”: a score of 70 or above

“Certificate of Participation”: a score of 69 or below

  • Different grades of certificates will be given to participants based on their final scores.

 

Competition Arrangements

  • A hard copy of the original music must be submitted for reference on the competition day. The scores or rankings of the candidates who fail to provide the music copies may be affected.
  • Candidates who perform with music score, please submit a hard copy of the original music for the adjudicators. If a candidate plays by memory, an original copy must be provided for the adjudicators.
  • The original copies of music will be returned after the competition. Any photocopy submitted will NOT be returned to the competitors.
  • Candidates must use original music for performance. Using photocopied music on stage will be disqualified.
  • Please do not share music score with other competitors.
  • Playing from memory is not compulsory in any level of the competition. But is strongly encouraged and will be considered in marking.
  • Practice or warm-up at Competition is not allowed.
  • Candidate can only perform one piece within the stipulated time limit.
  • The piece to be performed in the competition must be the same as that stated in the application form. Otherwise candidate will be disqualified.
  • All pieces should be played without repeats, except for D.C. or D.S. or with specification in the set syllabus.
  • Maximum time limits must be strictly observed competitors may be stopped and/or disqualified if they go over.
  • Adjudicator has the right and full discretion to stop performance at any time.

  • The Organizing Committee reserves the rights to cancel any competition level if necessary. In case of any cancellation, the affected candidates will be notified and the application fee will be refunded.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to amend or rescind any regulation, award or judge pertaining to the Competition without any prior notice.
  • Requests of any changes in competition dare, time and performing order is NOT allowed. If the candidate fails to attend the competition, he or she will be marked as absent; and the application fee will NOT be refunded.
  • All candidates should arrive at the competition venue on time. Latecomers can only perform at the end of each round. If latecomers have not arrived by the final round of the competition will be considered “no-shows”, and will not be permitted to perform on stage. The application fee will NOT be refunded.
  • If the candidate fails to attend the competition, he or she will be marked as absent; and the application fee will NOT be refunded.

 

Other Rules and Regulations

  • Please fill in the application form carefully. All details (including song choices) could not be changed once entry form has been submitted.
  • Requests of change in writing will only be accepted for school exams. Such request must be accompanied with a school letter. There is no guarantee that requests must be able to be accommodated. It is subject to the availability of appropriate grade, category and schedule.
  • Candidates are requested to bring along their student cards or student hand books to verify their age at the registration counter.
  • One candidate can only be accompanied by ONE patient or guardian inside the competition venue.
  • The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any competitor who fails to comply with the requirements, regulations and eligibility set by the Organizer.
  • Hints or advices, during a performance, are strictly forbidden. Once discovered, the panel reserves all rights to issue a corresponding mark penalty.
  • Please switch off your mobile phone, pager and any alarming devices during the competition.
  • Expect the official photographers, no filming, recording or photography will be permitted at the competition.
  • All rounds of the competition will be recorded and videotaped. The copyright of all audio and visual recordings belongs to the properties of the organizer.
  • The Organizing Committee has the exclusive rights of the competitors’ image, information, and work. All of the information and recordings may be used for advertising purposes.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right of final decision in case of uncertainty or dispute.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to amend or rescind any regulation, award or judge pertaining to the Competition without any prior notice.
  • In the event of a dispute, the Chinese version of this prospectus is definitive.
